...
you will<del class="delete"> probably</del> need access
If you have a laptop with wireless, you will be able to access the internet at your TAFE Illawarra Campus with your DET username and password (only in the library at some campuses).
Ask your campus librarian for assistance on connecting your laptop or open your web browser to find the instructions and login page.
Technical Requirements<ins class="insert"> for Flexible Learning</ins>
{http://farm1.static.flickr.com/217/520093933_e4f47364cc_m.jpg} If your course is offered by flexible learning, you will probably need access to a computer or laptop with internet connection (preferably broadband).
If you have a laptop with wireless, you will be able to access the internet at your TAFE Illawarra Campus with your DET username and password(only in the library at some campuses). Ask your campus librarian for assistance on connecting your laptop or open your web browser to find the instructions and login page.

...
Flash Player (free - click on logo to download latest version)
USB Memory Stick or Flash Drive
<ins class="insert">Email Account - use the DET email provided after enrolment or your own personal or work email.</ins>
Other Equipment and Software
You may need the following equipment if your course uses web conferencing or if you are required to collect visual evidence for assessment purposes (check with your teacher):

...
Media Player Software such as Windows Media Player (if you have Windows XP or later) or QuickTime
Application Software - you may also need course specific application software, eg MS Office 2007, MYOB (your teacher will advise). Open Office software is free open source software similar to MSOffice that you may find useful for assignments. Download from http://www.openoffice.org
<ins class="insert">Online Resources (Wiki, Moodle, Blogs)
If your course has elearning or online resources they will be accessed through a Virtual Learning Environment, such as a wiki, blog or Moodle. Your teacher will advise you of the web address and login instructions. The online learning resources may contain downloadable documents, videos, interactive activities, forums, chat.
You will need your DET Login and password for Moodle (you will receive this after you enrol). Wiki and Blogs may require you to create an account and join (your teacher will advise). You should also ensure that you have a current email address.
Video Conferencing
If your course involves attending a campus to participate in video conference sessions you will need to attend at the advised time. Your teacher will advise who to contact at your local campus. The contact will assist you with access and show you how to operate the video conferencing equipment provided. You should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your first session.
Web Conferencing (Adobe Connect)
If your course involves attending a web conference, you will most likely use Adobe Connect Pro (Connect). Connect is a web-based conferencing tool that is accessed through your web browser (see above). Your teacher will provide you with a web address (url) to access the Connect room and you should log in using the Guest option. Enter your full name to ensure your participation in the session is recorded. You will need an audio headset with microphone (a webcam is optional). Check out this introductory Connect Tutorial to prepare for your first Connect session.
NOTE: you will need to install an Adobe Connect Add-in to enable audio and sharing the first time you enter a Connect room (you should be prompted to do this when you first enter).</ins>
